1. Under the guidance of our Principal, Ms. Meena Datta, Hanuman Jayanti was celebrated at
MERIT on 2nd April 2026 on the 1st floor of the institute. On this auspicious occasion, all staff
members gathered together and chanted the Hanuman Chalisa with great devotion and
enthusiasm. Faculty and students of COPA and DBSA trade actively participated in the
celebration, reflecting a strong sense of unity and spiritual fervor. The event concluded with the
distribution of sweets by our Director, Dr. Rattan Kumar Datta, spreading joy, harmony, and a
spirit of togetherness among all present.

2. An Induction Meeting for newly admitted learners of BCA, MCA (New),CIT,CCITSK and
PGDCA programs was held at MERIT on 3rd April 2026 .The session began with a warm
welcome by Mr. Tusar Ranjan Sarangi, who introduced the participants to MERIT and its
academic environment.Dr. Rattan Kumar Datta, Director of MERIT, addressed the learners and
emphasized the importance of distance education. He encouraged students to attend classes
regularly and remain consistent in their academic efforts. The event was graced by the presence
of Dr. M.A. Laskar, Regional Director, IGNOU Regional Centre Delhi-1, Dr. A. Rehman,
Deputy Director Director,Dr. Arshia Hussain Deputy Director Director Rc Delhi-1 who shared
valuable insights with the learners.The session concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Ms.
Meena Datta, Principal of MERIT, acknowledging the presence of the dignitaries and the
enthusiastic participation of the students.

3. On 30th March 2026, our Principal, Ms. Meena Datta, received an invitation to attend the
retirement party of Deputy Director Mr. B. S. Negi from the Directorate of Training and
Technical Education, Pitampura. On this occasion, Ms. Meena Datta presented a shawl and a
bouquet to Mr. B. S. Negi as a mark of respect and appreciation for his dedicated service. Our
faculty member, Mr. Abhishek Bharti, also participated in the function, making it a warm and
memorable occasion.

4. The 39th Convocation of the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) was held on
7th March 2026 at the prestigious Dr. Ambedkar International Centre, located at Connaught
Place, New Delhi.The event marked a significant academic occasion, celebrating the successful
completion of various programmes by learners across the country. The convocation was
organized with great dignity and enthusiasm, reflecting IGNOU’s commitment to inclusive and
accessible higher education. Our Senior Faculty Member, Mr. Tusar Ranjan Sarangi,
participated in the convocation and motivated the learners of our study centre, encouraging
them to pursue their academic goals with dedication and confidence.

5. From 3rd April 2026 we are conducting Offline/Online Counseling Sessions for IGNOU
BCA/MCA, MCA-New, PGDCA New,CIT and CCITSK for 1 st Semester students. (For Jan-
June 2026 session). More than 1500 Counselling Sessions were conducted between 1 st April to
30th April 2026.

6. On 13th April 2026, IGNOU organized a programme on Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam, 2023
at its Headquarters. Our Principal, Ms. Meena Datta, along with IGNOU learners, participated
in the programme. Our staff members, Ms. Meenakshi Sharma and Ms. Anjali Kumari, also
actively participated in the event.

7. In April 2026 around 20 students appeared for the TOEFL/GRE tests at our center.
